Manual installation

  1. Check for BepInEx 6

Open the game folder (the one with fm.exe) and look for a BepInEx folder. If it is not there, follow "Don't have BepInEx 6 yet?" below first.

  2. Copy the plugin

Extract the .zip into the game folder, merging with the BepInEx folder that is already there. You should end up with BepInEx\plugins\TacticalCam\TacticalCam.dll.

  3. Check your BepInEx version

FM26 needs BepInEx 6 for Unity IL2CPP; BepInEx 5 will not load in the game. This plugin was tested on FM26 26.3.2 with BepInEx 6.0.0-be.755.

  4. Start the game

Open Football Manager 26. To confirm the plugin loaded, open BepInEx\LogOutput.log and look for the plugin's name.

Don't have BepInEx 6 yet?
  1. Download the right build

FM26 uses BepInEx 6 for Unity IL2CPP, not 5. Download the file named BepInEx-Unity.IL2CPP-win-x64-... (build 755 or newer). Do not take the Mono files or anything labelled 5.x. You can tell them apart once extracted: BepInEx 6 IL2CPP has a dotnet folder next to the BepInEx folder; 5 does not.

  2. Extract into the game folder

Extract the file into your Football Manager 26 folder, the one containing fm.exe. Next to fm.exe you should see the BepInEx and dotnet folders and a winhttp.dll file.

  3. Start the game once and wait

On first launch BepInEx reads the whole game and generates its files. This takes several minutes, and the game may look frozen or show a black window. Let it finish.

  4. Confirm it worked

The file BepInEx\LogOutput.log now exists and the BepInEx\interop folder is full of .dll files. Only then install the plugin.

How to use
  • Open the panel with F3

During a match, press F3. Drag the panel by its title bar; its position is remembered. The EN/PT button in the corner switches the panel language.

  • Adjust the Tactical camera

    Height (-40 to +40 m), Distance (-40 to +80 m), Tilt (-40 to +25°), Yaw (-20 to +20°), Zoom/FOV (-25 to +25°) and Ball size (1.0 to 1.5x). Double-click a slider to reset only that one.

  • Save for the right stadium

Save global applies at every stadium. Save stadium creates an exception for the current stadium only and replaces the global preset there entirely. Load global discards unsaved changes; Reset sets every slider to neutral without writing anything.

Good to know
  • Nothing is replaced: the plugin adds offsets on top of the game's own camera, so ball tracking works exactly as before. With every slider at zero the image is identical to the game without the plugin.
  • Only the Tactical camera is affected. In every other camera mode the plugin stays inert, so it coexists with CameraInject and FreeCam.
  • If you have a CameraInject preset bound to the Tactical camera, the two will fight over the same frame: remove that preset or do not use both on that mode. While tuning, consider turning off ScrollAdjustsFov in CameraInject's config, because the panel cannot stop the mouse wheel from reaching it.
  • Ball size changes only what is drawn; ball position comes from the match engine and is untouched. Above 1.5x the ball starts sinking into the pitch and clipping through players' feet, which is why the slider stops there.
  • Presets are stored as plain JSON in BepInEx\plugins\TacticalCam\presets\. Ball size lives in the .cfg file.
  • To uninstall, delete BepInEx\plugins\TacticalCam\ and, if you want, BepInEx\config\com.marcelo.fm26.tacticalcam.cfg.
