Manual installation

  1. Check for BepInEx 6

Open the game folder (the one with fm.exe) and look for a BepInEx folder. If it is not there, follow "Don't have BepInEx 6 yet?" below first.

  2. Copy the plugin

Extract the .zip into the game folder, merging with the BepInEx folder that is already there. You should end up with BepInEx\plugins\PitchHUD\PitchHUD.dll.

  3. Have your facepack ready (optional)

Portraits come from your facepack folder. Sortitoutsi packs (face_{id}.png) work straight away; other file names can be configured later.

  4. Start the game

Open Football Manager 26. To confirm the plugin loaded, open BepInEx\LogOutput.log and look for the plugin's name.

Don't have BepInEx 6 yet?
  1. Download the right build

FM26 uses BepInEx 6 for Unity IL2CPP, not 5. Download the file named BepInEx-Unity.IL2CPP-win-x64-... (build 755 or newer). Do not take the Mono files or anything labelled 5.x. You can tell them apart once extracted: BepInEx 6 IL2CPP has a dotnet folder next to the BepInEx folder; 5 does not.

  2. Extract into the game folder

Extract the file into your Football Manager 26 folder, the one containing fm.exe. Next to fm.exe you should see the BepInEx and dotnet folders and a winhttp.dll file.

  3. Start the game once and wait

On first launch BepInEx reads the whole game and generates its files. This takes several minutes, and the game may look frozen or show a black window. Let it finish.

  4. Confirm it worked

The file BepInEx\LogOutput.log now exists and the BepInEx\interop folder is full of .dll files. Only then install the plugin.

How to use
  • Open the panel with F11

During a 3D match, press F11. Everything you change applies immediately and is saved when you close the panel.

  • Choose what shows

Under Show, turn portrait, number, distance, pass %, circular crop, team colour, dark background and team bar on or off. Under Size, adjust scale, portrait, name, stats, offset and rotation.

  • Set up the facepack

Under Facepack you see the current folder, the file name patterns and the reload button. By default the plugin tries {id}.png, face_{id}.png and iconface_{id}.png. Packs that ship a config.xml, newgen packs included, need no setting.

Good to know
  • The first match may be slow, and that is normal. The first time, PitchHUD walks the facepack folder to learn where the images are: with 1.4 million files it took 32 seconds. It happens once; the list is saved and later matches load normally.
  • Distance and pass % are read from the game's memory. If a Football Manager update breaks that, the plugin stops showing only those stats and says so in BepInEx\LogOutput.log; portraits, numbers and names keep working. To turn the reading off by hand, set Enabled = false under [MatchStats] in the config file.
  • Newgen support has only been tested with packs from ngregens.org.
  • Credits: Gustavo (@26081914sep) allowed his plugin to be used as the starting point. The original hook into the match billboards comes from his FM26 Match Portrait Labels; the facepack lookup, the stats reading, the panel and the label design were rewritten.
